SUMMARY:Wales Cancer Research Conference
DESCRIPTION:The Wales Cancer Research Conference is an opportunity for cancer researchers in Wales to convene across specialties\, institutions and research areas. With speakers from Wales and the UK\, presentations will cover the latest advances in cancer research\, and opportunities to connect with colleagues will help to stimulate future partnerships. \nAt each of the annual WCRC Wales Cancer Research Conferences\, we accept abstracts showcasing the breadth of research taking place across Wales. We have received an incredible volume of abstract submissions which highlight the diverse and comprehensive range of research being undertaken in the nation. Each abstract is submitted in alignment with one of the CReSt themes:\nTheme 1: Precision and mechanistic oncology\nTheme 2: Immuno-oncology\nTheme 3: Radiotherapy\nTheme 4: Cancer clinical trials\nTheme 5: Palliative and supportive oncology\nTheme 6: Prevention\, early detection\, primary care and health services research \nFrom 2025 onwards\, following a review process undertaken by our academic theme leads and members of the Early- and Mid- Career Network\, one abstract per theme was chosen to present an oral abstract presentation at the conference – these are listed first under the heading ‘lighting talk abstracts’\, below them are all of the other abstracts which were brought as posters to the conference\, split by CReSt theme. \nSee examples from previous years by visiting their website.

SUMMARY:ATTC Network Webinar
DESCRIPTION:Advancing site readiness for CAR-T delivery in autoimmune indications | Case studies with practical insights. \nOver recent years\, there has been rapid growth in the clinical development pipeline for CAR T therapies in autoimmune indications. These trials introduce new and complex challenges for the sector\, including the need for shared care delivery pathways and coordinated clinical infrastructure. \nTo ensure the UK remains at the forefront of delivering these innovative therapies\, continued development of NHS workforce capability and infrastructure is essential. A key part of this is enabling the effective sharing of best practice and operational learning across clinical sites. \nIn response\, the ATTC network is hosting a webinar that brings together leading NHS organisations\, including University College London Hospital NHS Foundation Trust\, King’s College Hospital NHS Foundation Trust\, Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust\, and NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde. \nThis 90-minute session will feature four case study presentations from experienced clinical sites\, highlighting how they have developed local capability and infrastructure to support CAR T trials in autoimmune indications. The session will conclude with a panel discussion\, offering further reflections and practical insights into different delivery models\, operational structures\, and implementation approaches. \nWho should attend?\n• Clinical leads and healthcare professionals involved in cell and gene therapy delivery\n• NHS service managers and operational leads\n• Pharmacy and advanced therapy specialists\n• Research nurses and clinical trial delivery teams\n• Workforce development and infrastructure planning stakeholders \nFind out more details.
